Activation of the Youth Gene© forms part of The Holy Grail of Art© series, a contemporary art investigation within the Wishes Collection exploring youth, transformation and the enduring aspirations that have accompanied humanity throughout history.
The artwork emerged as an artistic reflection on one of humanity’s most enduring aspirations: youth, understood as a universal symbol of vitality, renewal, creativity and hope. Today, this concept occupies a prominent place in the international dialogue surrounding innovation, well-being and the future.
Within Dubai’s cultural and innovation landscape, this artistic research connects with Dubai’s vision of the future, a vision focused on human development, longevity, knowledge and the creation of new possibilities for humanity. In this context, Activation of the Youth Gene © establishes a dialogue between art, philosophy and the fundamental questions surrounding human evolution, approaching longevity as a reflection on the future of life and the legacy we aspire to create.
The artwork was officially presented in Dubai during the unveiling of The Holy Grail of Art© series at Zabeel Ladies Club, as part of the ceremony in which Sonia G Caballero received the Global Icon of Artistic Innovation & Cultural Fusion award. Its presentation in the United Arab Emirates places this artistic investigation within the growing international dialogue surrounding youth, innovation, technology and the future. Without claiming to provide scientific answers, the artwork invites viewers to reflect on how these developments are transforming our understanding of the human condition.
Through a visual language that combines traditional materials with a contemporary vision, the artwork establishes a dialogue between art, science, philosophy and technology. The use of Japanese 24-karat gold leaf, a recurring element in Sonia G Caballero’s artistic practice, symbolises permanence, transformation and the timeless value of knowledge.
Rather than offering answers, Activation of the Youth Gene © invites viewers to reflect upon the universal pursuit of youth and on the ways innovation, artificial intelligence and precision medicine are reshaping our vision of the future.
The artwork proposes a poetic and conceptual reflection upon a universal question: How might our understanding of youth evolve as science continues to expand its possibilities?
