The Holy Grail of Contemporary Art© was born from a question that has accompanied me for years: can art become a language capable of engaging with the great challenges of our time? Through this project, I explore the relationship between art, science, philosophy, and cultural heritage in order to reflect on human evolution, longevity, youth, and fertility. My intention is not to provide answers, but to create works that invite viewers to contemplate the future from a new perspective.
Research
For years, I have questioned the role of art in an era defined by artificial intelligence, biotechnology, precision medicine, and the advances that are transforming our understanding of life. This reflection gave rise to The Holy Grail of Contemporary Art©, an artistic research project that uses visual language to explore some of the defining questions of the 21st century.
My purpose is not to interpret science or provide answers from within it. Instead, my research approaches art as a space for thought, where concepts such as youth, longevity, and fertility become universal symbols through which to reflect on human evolution, the passage of time, and the transformative potential inherent in our existence.
Each work emerges from a process of conceptual and material research in which the European artistic tradition, the influence of more than two decades devoted to the study of Japanese art, and a contemporary vision open to dialogue between culture, philosophy, and science converge. The result is a distinctive visual language that seeks to build bridges between seemingly distant disciplines, inviting the viewer to contemplate the future from a profoundly human perspective.

A reflection on the human capacity for renewal, transformation, and evolution. Through a distinctive visual language, the work explores youth as a symbol of creativity, learning, and continuous rebirth.

Currently in the process of creation, this work completes the *Trilogía de Activación Vital*© (Vital Activation Trilogy) and explores fertility as a universal symbol of origin, continuity, and creation. During this stage, it is possible to visit the studio and see the creative process and the work’s evolution up close.
The substantive investigation
The conceptual research behind The Holy Grail of Contemporary Art© finds its expression in a material investigation developed over many years. Each work is conceived as a union of tradition, innovation, and technical excellence, where the choice of materials forms an inseparable part of the artistic language.
My practice is inspired by the principles of the Japanese Rinpa School and the development of a distinctive visual language, integrating 24-karat Japanese gold leaf (99.9% purity), platinum, copper, natural stones, pigments, resins, and oil on canvas. Each of these materials has been selected not only for its aesthetic qualities, but also for its ability to bring depth, light, texture, and permanence to the work.
Far from regarding matter as a decorative element, I conceive it as an essential component of the research itself. The interaction between noble metals, natural minerals, and traditional painting techniques creates surfaces that transform the perception of light, turning each work into a unique visual experience.
This material investigation establishes a dialogue between the artistic heritage of East and West, giving rise to a contemporary visual language in which technical precision and conceptual depth progress inseparably.
International Recognition
The presentation of The Holy Grail of Contemporary Art© at the Zabeel Ladies Club in Dubai marked a particularly significant moment in the development of this research.
During the event, I was honored with the Global Icon of Artistic Innovation & Cultural Fusion award, presented personally by His Highness Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, representing the Royal Family and the Government of the United Arab Emirates.
I receive this distinction as recognition of a line of research that brings together cultural heritage, innovation, and technical excellence, while seeking to open new avenues of dialogue between contemporary art and some of the defining challenges of the 21st century.
Rather than a final destination, this recognition serves as an encouragement to continue developing The Holy Grail of Contemporary Art© as an artistic research project with an international vision.
